Get your excuses in early... Yeah thanks Mum, gonna need to shoot off pretty early Boxing Day though ;)

C.O.R have been throwing legendary parties on Boxing Day along the South Coast in Southsea. Greg Wilson, Diesel, Graeme Park, Ashley Beedle & Alfredo have all joined the friendliest gang of disco reprobates you are ever likely to meet for some well organised debauches over the years. I'm a big fan and love their parties but have yet to make it along to a Boxing Day beano. This year it's gonna be different, plans are being made, excuses in early and a mid morning departure from the family should be pretty smooth. No Turkey sandwiches for me, I'm off to a Vintage Holiday themed H.O.U.S.E party! Tickets are available very shortly and the info you'll need is here FB EVENT By the end of play we can see a few of the crowd rolling out some Party Chat for the remaining post - Christmas telly sessions...see below!

Secret do part two! Special guest Ethyl

The second installment of this season's roof terrace parties... As promised, we're really ramping things up this year and it gives us great pleasure to announce that we have a very special guest headlining our second party of 2012: Ethyl (Freerange / Secretsundaze / Saints & Sonnets)

Ethyl is a name that we've had our eye on for some time now, and it was only a matter of time before we snapped him up for a Brighton Debut. Ethyl (aka Tim Hopgood) has been making serious waves on the deep house scene of late, since his debut EP on Jimpster's Freerange imprint in 2009, with production partner, Flori. More recently Ethyl has releases on Huxley's new label, Saints & Sonnets, plus a superb remix on Brighton's own Black Key Records. Listen here:

We're very excited about this one and we hope you will be too...

Entry to this party is by TICKET ONLY, which are priced at £5 each and are available EXCLUSIVELY HERE:

Ethyl will be joined by residents Contraband DJs and Andy G.

Venue details will remain a secret until a couple of days before the party, but all all tickets holders will be notified, by email, in plenty of time.

We've got a great venue lined up, sea views with a large indoor capacity, so we'll be partying in Sunny Brighton come rain or shine...

The Great Escape hits Brighton this weekend - We're on Sat night at The Globe (no ticket req'd)

Having a basement session with a difference on Saturday night, the town will be in full swing with gigs everywhere from Thursday onwards as this years Great Escape / Alternative Great Escape kicks off with vigour. Loads of excellent live performances ahead as well as the usual fair share of ropey ones too!

We're looking forward to catching a few bands and doing the rounds over the weekend as well as settling down for a session at The Globe. We're gonna play a mix of stuff to reflect some of our favourites playing this year and have booked Richard Norris (Time & Space Machine, Beyond the Wizards Sleeve & The Grid) to play a festival set. It should be an interesting party.

Richard Norris has remixed Franz Ferdinand, SMD, Late of the Pier, Goldfrapp, Chemical Brothers, Psychemagik, Midlake, Badly Drawn Boy, Bryan Ferry, DJ Harvey & Tracey Thorn to name a few as well as hitting the top 10 on a number of occasions with The Grid.

We're looking forward to hearing him play and it should be a perfect addition to the weekend.

We're installing a nice Mackie Rig for the night and it is free entry so come along and get involved.

Secret NYE preview.

God we're SO excited about this party. Everything is on track for an absolutely brilliant night in a stunning location, the perfect setting for a truly memorable NYE.

If you want to be there, then be warned over half the tickets sold in 2 weeks and we're down to the last 70 already so I suggest you get your self sorted soon or you could find you miss the boat. You can only get a ticket from Ran$om Note  the venue will be announced the week leading up to the party by email to all guests.

The music promises to be of the highest quality with Deep and Techy house grooves combined with some fresh Disco tinged productions and out and out club classics from 10-4.

Andy G has long been in search of the perfect beat and I was excited to hear he recently took his vinyl out of storage and has been delving through it over the past few weeks unearthing gems from his years spent in Ibiza as a resident at Bora Bora and the infamous Electricsex. I'm hoping we'll hear one or two of the 'Rude Boy tunes' he has rocked the white isle with over the years.

Neil Brown is off to Belarus this weekend and will be checking out the scene there with Maceo Plex on Saturday. An exciting weekend which should result in plenty of inspiration for his NYE set opening up alongside Andy G.

Rich Harmer has been working hard on his new label Black Key Records which recently unleashed it's first vinyl offering from the brilliant Jonny Cade. You can check it out here and grab yourself a copy if you like.

Rich has also mixed a little preview ahead of the party. Plenty of depth and a real treat for the house heads amongst you.

I'm staying tight lipped about what I might play as I am pretty undecided at this point, although there are a swathe of tracks on the list and I have no idea how I'm gonna rule any out, vast amounts to choose from that are all so good.

Looking forward to a really great party!

2 dates Secret Brighton Bank Holiday Roof Terrace Parties

We will be having a couple of roof terrace kinda parties on Sun May 29 & Sun Aug 28 - Last year these were the highlight of our summer and I'm sure those of you there would agree they were something special.

This year we have been forced to find a new venue as the last place changed hands in the winter and they have other plans for 2011. The bonus with our new location are the view is incredible and add to that the fact there's plenty of room indoors as well as outside so we can party on whatever the weather decides to do.

Guest list only - for further details email: contrabanddjs@gmail.com
