Disco Deviant Promote Diversity Special: No Crime, No Punishment - Friday 6th September, Audio, Brighton

House music sure isn’t the answer to everything but when Disco Deviant’s Pablo Contraband and DJ Kate Wildblood and artist Karol Michalec of Brighton Supports LGBT Russia got talking about the abominable situation Putin’s anti-gay propaganda laws are creating in Russia today, they knew they wanted to do something in Brighton clubland to help create awareness and raise much needed campaigning funds for All Out. Alongside nightclubs across the globe including Berlin’s Berghain, New York’s Output and Munich’s Harry Klein, Disco Deviant’s Promote Diversity Special: No Crime No Punishment will be making a defiant noise courtesy of some of clubland’s finest DJs including global superstar and Big Love head honcho Seamus Haji, Southern Fried and Up Yours wonder Hifi Sean and Jon Pleased Wimmin, whose ventures at clubs including Taboo, Sacrosanct, the Mud Club, Pushca, Back To Basics and Miss Moneypennies have made him a true clubland legend.

Disco Deviant’s Promote Diversity Special: No Crime No Punishment will be an All Out fundraiser, delivering a club night where regardless of who you love, you too can stand beside the Russian LGBT community and say ‘nyet’ to the anti-gay legalisation, ‘nyet’ to hate crimes, nyet to gay teen suicides and nyet to Putin. Its time four to the floor showed homophobia the door.

‘As a gay man I feel duty bound to bring these Draconian goings-on in Russia to people's attention. It's easy for us in the West to take our equality and progress for granted. The world simply mustn't be allowed to move backwards.’ Jon Pleased Wimmin

‘I am getting involved with Disco Deviant’s Promote Diversity Fundraiser simply because human rights are being attacked in Russia in an immoral and barbaric way, right now, in the year 2013. If we don't do something now and make our voices heard then what future lies ahead of us all?’ Hifi Sean

"I'm amazed that in this day and age gay people are still fighting for equal rights. I've played all over Russia for many years and the people I've come into contact with have never appeared to be anti gay and in fact, many of the clubs are mixed so there's a strong gay element. Mixing with the new generation in the music world I find they are fortunately much more open minded than some of the older generation or more conservative, younger generation. Music has always brought people together and knocked down barriers so I am very honoured to be asked to play in support of the protest" Seamus Haji

Disco Deviant are proud to present A Love From Outer Space at Audio, Brighton on Friday April 20th.

An exciting prospect and one we are pleased to debut in Brighton. Andrew Weatherall & Sean Johnston (Hardway Bros) have been carrying out a monthly experiment in interplanetary audio at The Drop in Stoke Newington. The manifesto of their night, A Love From Outer Space is to never knowingly exceed 122bpm. Andrew describes the night as “an oasis of slowness in a world of increasing velocity”.

Disco Deviant himself Pablo Contraband will be plying his trade alongside the ALFOS pair, a prospect he is already daydreaming about.

Grab yourself a ticket to guarantee entry to what promises to be a very popular night.

Pablo's Birthday bash with Greg Wilson & Rayko - FRIDAY 11th November @ Audio, Brighton

So this weekend see's Pablo celebrating his birthday in fine style at Disco Deviant. A dream line up for anyone with a penchant for disco & boogie. Greg Wilson is the Godfather of the scene having pioneered editing techniques, beat matching and live effects decades before we could all have a go digitally. His razor and his Revox reel to reel will still be in evidence on Friday night.

Rayko on the other hand is very much of the digital age and uses the technology to his advantage. He doesn't play house music at all and has his sights set on keeping the 80's boogie and electro funk sounds alive and kicking on todays dance floors. He has produced 100's of edits, remixes and original productions over the years and has an army of 9'000 soundcloud followers as a result of his work.

We're looking forward to dancing till our feet hurt on Friday Night at Audio. Advance tickets are £8 and are available from the following shops & online outlets:

Andrew Weatherall returns to Brighton Friday October 28th

Disco Deviant were treated to an absolutely sublime aural feast last time Andrew Weatherall graced the decks for us back in April.

We have been loving Mr Weatherall's style for over 2 decades now and he still cuts it for us having been consistently impressive with some amazing remixes of recent. We're happy to have him back to headline for us again at Audio.

The last event was superb and totally sold out in advance, so we are expecting more of the same this time too.

Pablo Contraband will be warming things up for us and setting the tone for what promises to be another quality Disco Deviant party.

Tickets are £7.50 in advance from

Disco Deviant & Contraband DJ's are launching the summer party season with an Easter Sunday sun terrace session from 4pm onwards at Audio.

The rooftop parties they threw last year were absolutely spot on with the sunshine, music and crowd mixed perfectly. We're hoping to bring the weather along for this one and signs are looking good so far!

Contraband DJ's plus guests out on the terrace then bringing the party into the bar later. Guests to be announced shortly.

Lovely cocktails, Brighton sausage company BBQ, alfresco dancing, and the finest in disco, deep house and bass boogie.

FREE ENTRY

If you missed out on any of last year's parties, here's a little reminder:

What a night we had with Weatherall... Great 2nd Birthday

We had an absolutely incredible night on Friday at Audio, a great turn out and some excellent tunes. A BIG thanks to Andrew for a memorable set of chuggers... Balearic Psyche Disco is how I would describe it.

An even BIGGER thank you to all of you that came out, I was really chuffed to see so many of you there, loads of familiar faces in the club and a great atmosphere all night long the DD edit of No Memory certainly seemed to whet a few appetites...

From the moment Andrew pitched my last track (Ron Basejam's Edit of Serious by Donna Allen) down and down until it started to sound like a dub track I knew we were in for the treatment. Sure enough we weren't disappointed 106 - 112 bpm for the first hour or more, apart from Birdshell - Craig Bratley I barely recognised another track until towards the end of his set. The dance floor rocked and swayed punctuated with the occasional cheers and whistles you would expect before another explosion of energy.

It is a great feeling when you know everyone there has come out especially for the music and the intention is to dance all night with someone they regard as outstanding at the helm. Friday night was a prime example of this in effect, loads of the crowd were in the same spot, dancing for the duration.

It's rare that this happens - nightclubs nowadays seem to attract a lot of random punters, with other priorities like taking pictures and showing off ranking far higher than the music or dancing.

Weatherall, Greg Wilson, The Revenge have all attracted a music led audience to Disco Deviant it's a pleasure to be part of and exciting to play at. I'm looking forward to Horse Meat Disco debuting for us on Friday June 3rd at Audio. Jim Stanton and Severino will more than likely deliver the goods via the more power packed aspects of Disco alongside some Chicago and contemporary house. Myself & Go Bang DJ's will be sandwiched either side of the HMD guys so another one we're getting over excited about already.

Check back later in the week for a recording of my set and hopefully I may have something from Andrew too.  Got to say Andy G came on back to back with me for the last hour and we gave the place a massive shot of adrenaline, really loved finishing off like that and seeing the place go mad before a closing track with the house lights up, the footage of which is below.

If you had a good time come too HMD on June 3rd there are some limited £5 early birds up for grabs on RA LINK

We are also holding a Free Entry Terrace Party on Easter Sunday 3.30pm - Late - It's on Audio's terrace spilling into the bar as the evening draws in. Deep House and Disco are the order of the day.

Brighton DD Exclusive date: Greg Wilson Friday February 25th, Audio

Disco Deviant bring Greg Wilson back to Brighton for what promises to be another great night.

Greg Wilson needs little in the way of introduction and has been a firm favorite of ours having provided the sound track at a few almost legendary nights for us here in Brighton. 2010 has probably been one of his most successful years to date both as a DJ and remixer alike.

Pablo Contraband has honed his sound over the years and seems to have nailed down delivering an exciting mix of new tracks alongside some classic sounds from house to soul, funk and disco. Always interesting.

Also added to the line up is Matthew Burgess (Lowlife), he's played a massive part in the Lowlife parties over the years and was a favourite at Vintage and Electric Elephant this year too. We're happy to have him on board.

Grab an early bird for £5 until mid Jan before they go up to £7. These parties do normally sell out.

Tickets: Rounder / Resident / 412 Fashion / Dance 2

Disco Deviant have booked one of the scene's most prolific DJ/producers - The Revenge. He has produced some of the finest tunes of recent years and his extended remixes certainly do the bizzo.

From the Ooft camp in Glasgow, The Revenge aka Graeme Clark has progressed from local DJ/Producer and blogger to an international DJ, showcasing his talents far and wide.

His sets are usually a mixture of his own productions, remixes and edits alongside some stellar disco treats and deep house and Detroit flavoured delicacies. Reports from his gigs have been glowing, and unlike some producers, this guy is definitely a DJ first and foremost.

This is a great chance to catch The Revenge on his Brighton debut, at Audio on Fri 16 April. He already has a string of bookings in 2010 including major festivals and a tour of Oz.

Also on the bill is Pablo Contraband delivering his disco centric sound, compromising of disco and funk edits and originals with some classic house usually included in the mix.

There is also a rumour ; as yet unconfirmed, that the Wolf music guys will also be on DJ duty... quite a night.

Early Birds are just £5 each on RA & Skiddle
