Friday's Funky Five

Thanks to Pablo for inviting me to join the Disco Deviant crew.

I'm gonna kick things off with a selection of excellent Re-Edits of classic Disco, Funk & Soul.

First up we have Touchsoul's edit of Alicia Myers – You Get The Best From Me, originally released on MCA in 1984. Alicia Myers - You Get The Best From Me (Touchsoul Edit) by touchsoul

The eternally popular Marvin Gaye's Funky Space Re-Incarnation from 1978 has been given a punchy dancefloor edit by Liverpools Andy Ash. Funky Space Reincarnation by Andy Ash

One of my favourite DJ/Producers Todd Terje works his magic on a epic 1977 Demis Roussos track, I Dig You, from his album Magic. I Dig You (Todd Terje Housemix) - Demis Roussos by AOR DISCO

Taking things a in a more relazed direction Onur Engin has knocked out another first class edit of Esther Phillips' 1972 hit, Home Is Where The Hatred which was written by the legendary Gil Scott Heron. Esther Phillips - Home Is Where The Hatred Is (Edit) by Onur Engin

Last, but certainly not least, we have Leftside Wobble with an unashamed disco screamer of an edit of Change's Pocket Angel (featuring a massive Jocelyn Brown chorus). Pocket Angel (Stripped Edit) by Leftside Wobble

Leftside Wobble will be playing with Pablo at the Disco Deviant night Above Audio, Friday 26th March. Unmissable.
